On September, 15th, 2011 COVER 3 and Partnerships for Children held it’s 2nd annual COVER 3 Partnerships Golf Classic at Teravista Golf Club. Partnerships For Children’s mission is to provide critical resources to abused and neglected children in the community who are in care of Child Protective Services. This golf tournament helped raise criticail resources for Partnerships for Children. Attendants enjoyed happy hour at COVER 3, and a day of golf. After the golf tournament, attendees were provided a dinner catered by COVER 3. Austin Infiniti, Austin Subaru, and First Texas Honda all sponsored this event. The 18th Season of 93.3 KGSR Unplugged at the Grove kicked off on April 14th and ended September 15th. Presented by Louis Shanks and sponsored by Austin Subaru, the 18th season of KGSR Unplugged at the Grove saw 23 days of unplugged music being played at Shady Grove on Barton Springs Road. Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis closed out this year’s festivities. We can’t wait for next year’s Unplugged at the Grove to kick off!

The Subaru Impreza XV concept was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show and expects to hit American shores in 2013. The XV is a crossover SUV, a successor to the Impreza. Ground clearance is very trail-friendly with 8.6 inches and provides innovatively designed alloy wheels and cut-away cladding that exudes a sporty appearance to the XV. From September 6th to 11th , 2011, the Austin Gay and Lesbian International Film Festival (aGLIFF) was held all over Austin and Austin Subaru helped with the festival. Over the five days, the festival premiered movies that serve the LGBTQI communities of Central Texas as well as members of the growing independent film industry of Austin. aGLIFF was founded in 1987 and serves to combine entertainment with community outreach and education. The presenting sponsor was Austin Subaru and their tent was where voting for audience favorites took place, along with raffles for prizes for Alamo and Ogio products. BFGoodrich has posted a video of Subaru Rally Team USA David Higgins’ Mt. Washington Hill Climb Record. Higgins did it without a co-driver in his Vermont SportsCar-prepped Subaru WRX STi rally car equipped with BFGoodrich RC01 Rally tires. Congratulations to William Meyers #1 Subaru Technician in America

Austin Subaru’s own William Myers has won the Subaru Of America’s 3rd Annual Technician Competition! That means Austin Subaru has one of the best, if not the best, automobile technician in the United States! Billy won a plaque, a $500 presentation check from Subaru of America, and a recognition gift from Fuji Heavy Industries. Mr. Myers is one of 13 participants chosen to represent the United States in the 2011 Subaru World Technician Competition in Japan. Each competitor was tested on diagnostic, repair, research, and communication skills. Billy has been with Austin Subaru for over 19 years and has more than 26 years of experience as a technician. We want to give a special thank you to Hat Creek Burger Company for coming out and celebrating Billy’s special moment. We wish Billy the best of luck in Japan, and we will be giving Austin Subaru fans all updates from the Land of the Rising Sun!
