This Saturday was the day that our “Drive for Dollars” saw fruition. Drive for dollars was designed to benefit local Eco-charities from Austin Subaru. Each time a customer took a test drive and acknowledged that they had heard on the airwaves about this program we made a donation to one of the three local eco-charities in their name. The three charities that we included in our drive for dollars program were Keep Austin Beautiful, The Hill Country Conserve, and The Colorado River Foundation.
Keep Austin Beautiful’s goal is to “clean, beautify, and protect the Austin environment through physical improvements and hands on education.” The second was, The Hill Country Conservancy, who’s goal is to, “protect open space and water quality in Central Texas, ” through conservation easements. The third charity was, The Colorado River Foundation was established to, “promote education, protection, and stewardship of the Colorado River in Texas.” We held a check presentation at our dealership with representatives from each charity. From Keep Austin Beautiful we had Rodney Ahart, and from The Hill Country Conservancy, Andrea Rado, and from The Colorado River Foundation, Erin O’Neil Franz.
“We are so excited to see this thing through, we feel so strongly about conservation and our community, so this was fun for us!” – Brent Baker (General Manager) Austin Subaru
